Mario is the iconic Italian plumber and main protagonist of Nintendo’s Super Mario franchise, created by Shigeru Miyamoto in 1981. Mario was created by Japanese video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto and serves as the mascot of Nintendo. He first appeared in the arcade game Donkey Kong in 1981 under the names "Jumpman" and "Little Mario" before becoming the central character in Super Mario Bros.
Mario is portrayed as a heroic, silent, and straightforward character, known for his jumping and stomping abilities to defeat enemies. He can gain additional powers through items such as the Super Mushroom, Fire Flower, and Super Star.
